Face cradles are designed to improve comfort and add usable length to a table. One of the disadvantages of a portable table is that the face hole, no matter how well it is designed, can become uncomfortable if the patient is lying in the prone position for a long period of time. Face cradles attempt to overcome this problem and improve access to the head and neck area. They are installed at the end of the table opposite the face hole.
